Even a Superhero needs a helping paw…
We are looking for people like you to join with us in helping to make todays puppies tomorrow’s Superheroes!
Green Capes members share an extreme love of dogs, a strong sense of cooperation, and a desire to help others, which has allowed us to form a community of puppy fosters, graduates and supporters who work together to help give Canadians living with disabilities the joy, safety and independence a guide dog Superhero brings.
Green Capes Lions Club is a virtual club. We meet monthly via Zoom. Our fund raising events are currently held in southern Ontario and northeast British Columbia but as membership grows we expect this to expand. As a member you can participate in and/or lead any of our committees including calendar design, technology, merchandise, events, executive etc. Got ideas on how we can improve GC? A new area for events? Fundraising ideas, Leadership, Technical or Professional skills? Do you want to make a difference? We need you!.
We welcome associate members from any Canadian Lions club.
We also have a strong Super Pup team of over 100 volunteers who support the club by helping us at events and selling our calendar to friends and family.
If you would like to learn more about joining Green Capes please fill in this form. We are glad to hear from you!
Why our members joined GC
“Having experienced the joy and independence my guide dog has given me, I wanted to help bring the same experience to others with disabilities, and joining the Green Capes Lions Club has provided me with exactly the opportunity I was looking for, in a way that is easy and fun, while also showing my heartfelt thanks to those who helped me.”
Green Capes LC provides me with a fun way to connect with people and puppies, achieve my goal of helping others, and give the gift of independence through our connection with the Lions Foundation of Dog Guides.
I’m drawn to generous, empathetic people who love dogs and fun as much as I do and want to help others live more independently by helping to raise money and awareness for the puppies.
I love dogs. I love people who love dogs. And I especially love working with people who help dogs help people!
Now that I cannot foster (too many dogs!) I love having a way to keep connected with the amazing people who support dog guides.
